INT3RVAL is a multipurpose gallery space centered around art, design, and lifestyle — an exploration of how objects, spaces, and experiences can exist more intentionally within everyday life. Rather than separating aesthetics from function, INT3RVAL is interested in the relationship between how we live with design, move through space, and create meaning beyond the routines of daily life.

Founded by Yu J., whose background spans business management, marketing, and a family-run construction company, INT3RVAL was built from both creative curiosity and practical understanding. The space itself is located in Xinzhuang Fuduxin, New Taipei City — a rapidly developing residential and business district directly opposite the Taiwan Film & Audiovisual Institute (TFAI). Positioned within a newly built office complex developed by Yu’s family, the gallery exists within a landscape that is still actively evolving, both physically and culturally.

Today, information, products, and transactions move faster than ever. Through social media and digital platforms, discovery has become immediate and accessible; almost anything can be viewed, shared, or purchased with a single tap. Yet despite this convenience, physical spaces continue to hold a different kind of value — not simply as places for transaction, but as places for experience, connection, and presence.

There remains something irreplaceable about interacting with objects in person. The texture of a material, the atmosphere of a room, the conversations that emerge naturally within a shared moment — these are experiences that cannot be fully translated digitally. INT3RVAL was created with this belief in mind: that physical space still matters, not because it competes with the digital world, but because it offers something fundamentally human within it.

As contemporary life becomes increasingly fast-paced and multidimensional, people are expected to move fluidly between disciplines, roles, and identities. INT3RVAL sees physical spaces in a similar way. Rather than existing for a single purpose, modern spaces can be adaptive, layered, and multifunctional — capable of hosting exhibitions, conversations, retail objects, workshops, coffee, gatherings, and creative exchange within the same environment.

This flexibility sits at the core of INT3RVAL’s philosophy. The space is not intended to function solely as a gallery, shop, café, or venue, but as an interval between these categories.

The name INT3RVAL reflects this idea. An interval is a space in between: between disciplines that intersect and where art, design, commerce, and everyday living can coexist more organically — a place where different creative practices and experiences are brought into dialogue with one another.
